OAKWORKS® Medical Equipment News
Two Towers Are Better Than One
Traditionally, fluoroscopy tables have featured one-tower construction. These tables are prohibitively expensive and are limited in mobility, access, and weight tolerance. Oakworks® has modernized the field of radiolucency by engineering tables that correct those deficiencies through the use of two towers. This ground-breaking technology – that won't break the bank – offers superior performance in the areas of strength, access, functionality, and cost.
The design philosophy behind these tables, in part, is to allow the C-arm to do more of the work; by putting the C-arm between the towers there is enough room to move it 38 inches in either direction. With an Oakworks® fluoroscopy table the C-arm also can now perform any necessary lateral movement, so both the patient and the table remain stationary. And since there is centralized cable management, the C-arm can function without interference. Make sure you check out the videos demonstrating what makes Oakworks® an innovator in positioning and imaging equipment.
Oakworks® engineers recognize that fluoroscopy tables are used in a variety of medical branches so they constructed equipment that suits the needs of those performing fluoroguidance, injections, and spinal and vascular mapping. The two towers with Trendelenburg and reverse-Trendelenburg tilt, as well as manual travel top, allow cross-disciplinary flexibility.
These fluoroscopy tables can handle any size or weight patient, enabling treatment of the widest variety of patients. They are bariatric weighted up to 620 lbs. while the 5/8 inch-thin top offers optimum radiolucency. Don't be deceived into thinking that thin equals unsubstantial, though – the carbon fiber top construction ensures superior strength.
For patient positioning, the towers are located 38.75 inches apart, allowing for placement of the spine between the posts while the manual travel top permits fingertip accuracy for ultimate placement of the patient. And because of the 22 inches of travel in the top, there is a total of 61 inches of metal-free imaging space and unlimited access to the patient's entire body.
Oakworks® has achieved these innovations while effectively lowering your cost of owning fluoroscopy equipment. Two medium grade motors are employed, rather than one heavy duty motor. The table top is moved manually instead of electronically, and foot controls are smaller and more economical, as well as being more practical.
Don't operate with "old school" technology. Don't practice with outdated "diving board" equipment. Don't spend a fortune on tables that are less efficient, less durable, and less patient and practitioner friendly.
